Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 August 2026

DeviceData is operated by Matthew Norris-Jones, trading as DeviceData. This policy explains how we use information when you purchase or use DeviceData. Contact: support@devicedata.co.uk.

Information we collect and why

We may collect your name, email address, account information, order and subscription details, device identifiers, IP address, support communications and telemetry transmitted by your DeviceData hardware.

Telemetry may include battery, voltage, current, solar generation, temperature, equipment status, environmental readings, location and other information supplied by connected equipment.

We use this information to operate DeviceData, associate devices with accounts, display telemetry, process orders and subscriptions, provide support, maintain security, diagnose problems, improve our products and meet legal and accounting obligations.

Public telemetry

Some DeviceData telemetry is intentionally made publicly accessible without requiring viewers to sign in.

Anything displayed on a public DeviceData page should be considered publicly available information. Depending on configuration, this may include device status, equipment readings, environmental information, identifiers and location.

Account passwords, payment information and information specifically designated as private are not public telemetry.

Sharing & storage

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information with service providers needed to operate DeviceData, such as hosting, email and payment providers, or where required by law.

Payment card information may be handled directly by our payment provider rather than stored by DeviceData.

We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service and meet legal, accounting and operational requirements. Telemetry may be retained to provide historical graphs, reports and other DeviceData features.

We use reasonable measures to protect private information, but no internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

UK data-protection law may give you rights to access, correct or delete your personal information and, in some circumstances, restrict or object to its processing or request its transfer.

To exercise these rights or close your account, contact support@devicedata.co.uk.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please contact us first. You may also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.

We may update this policy as DeviceData develops or legal requirements change. The current version will always be published on devicedata.co.uk.
